Day 5

Hola Everyone! Today was a major stepping stone for our projects we have been working on. The gravel finally arrived this morning so we were able to mix the concrete to move forward with the construction of the tunnel. All hands were on deck with this task to create the concrete and place it in the

holes with the level poles. While the concrete was drying, we were able to divide up and focus on our other projects (the rain wheel, drums, and xylophone). We made major progress in the creation of these projects as well, which was very crucial so we can focus on the tunnel tomorrow.

Tanner and I visited the soccer practice for the team at Little Hands Big Hearts. This was an incredible time to spend with the people here and bond over a shared interest and love even though there was a huge language barrier. Also, a huge shout-out to Tanner’s translating app which allowed us to have the slightest communication with them, it definitely came in clutch multiple times and helped us say “nice to meet you” which we definitely butchered the pronunciation of.

After dinner we went to church around the corner from Little Hands Big Hearts. This was a great time of bonding and fellowship with the Hondurans. One of my absolute favorite parts about a mission trip, Honduras specifically, is the love for God the people have. Personally, I speak “no Espanol” but I love the fact that we share a common love and desire to worship God. The dedication the Hondurans have for God is so encouraging and influential.

The second church we were able to worship with this week.

The biggest piece of advice I have that I learned especially this week is to use as much sunscreen as you possibly can. Reapply said sunscreen at least every hour whether you think you need it or not. The Honduran sun likes to target pasty white skin and it hurts very much. Also pack aloe wherever

you go.

Buenas Noches, looking forward to another great day!
