Day 3

Good evening from Honduras,

Today was an amazing day for me and my team. Firstly, this morning we got an opportunity to go church in Trujillo to meet the wonderful congregation. The energy from the church was phenomenal. Even though, I didn’t comprehend the language I still felt the synergy of the holy spirit. This reminds me of the Day of Pentecost in the book of Acts, where people from all nations gather around to feel the holy spirit. They all spoke different languages but the holy spirit made them comprehend each other.

After the worship, we had an opportunity to share a story about Jesus. It was about him and the five thousand people. In our skit, I acted the part of Jesus while Mariluz was reciting the story. Our other team members got to be different actors of the skit. Tanner was Peter, Caleb was Phillip and Natalie was the kid who held the food. We think the play went well, the kids loved it. We distributed paper fish and bread to the kids for them to color on. The kids were joyful and amazing. Right after children bible study, this kid (Chris) just came up to me and gave me a hug, which was my moment of the day.

On our Agenda, we were meant to split up and visit different families. I got to be with Myra’s family, while the other team members got different families. Myra, who is an awesome person, open us to her homes to have food and share about her family and culture. We enjoy fried rice and chicken with tortillas which was delicious. We spoke, while I gradually learn Spanish. My team leaders Luke and Lydia, were almost fluent with Spanish from my perspectives, they communicated well with the family. Later they took us down to the river we got to see the kids play in the river. I enjoy the coconut water and jelly which of course was refreshing. We play with the kids and enjoy their energy around us.

In the evening, we got to do a little work on the playground. We initiated the tunnel with the holes for our post, which we thought was going to take a long time but was very short. We fully dug the holes and now are prepared for tomorrow which is to set the post.

Overall, this day was amazing, I got to share and learned about the Word even though there was a language barrier.
