Fun in the Sun, and Rain

Today was an early start for part of the team with a 5:45am run to the beach, Led by Shibu Alexander. Next on the agenda was a meeting with some of the leaders of the village to get supplies and some clarifications about the sanitation specifications. This meeting also included a follow up discussion about how to integrate STEM into the college school program. You can see in the picture Joe and Kyle testing some of the kites planned to be used for the stem education. After that we came together as a team to cut the corrugated piping that will be used as the media in the filter tanks. The piping was a bit smaller than expected, however, we didn’t think it wouldn’t be a problem. Although the task was mundane it gave the team the opportunity for some team building with some great conversation. After some hard work we discovered that the size of the pipe did effect the efficiency of the system, so we will have to start over using the right size piping. Our team is stronger than ever after the day and is ready to tackle the next day to make up for the mix-up today.
