Phrases.

“Brownbag Billy”,”Kumba”,”Dr. D”, “eating ice”, “China man”, and “Mr. and Mr. Smith” are just a few of the many phrases that we have become accustomed to during this past week in Ghana. All of these have interesting and memory-filled meanings. These sort of sayings and memories have come from so many different places: from early morning runs to the beach, playing with the kids, digging trenches in the heat, engaging in lizard catching contests, and building our project tanks. I wouldn’t trade these experiences for anything, and I’m excited for the next nine days.

Just a few updates from today:

  1. We had a very successful day getting a ton of work done on the project.

  2. Carson survived a day trip to the city.

  3. We found a snake and a scorpion on a late-night nature trip.

  4. The little children engaged in a chestnut-throwing war.

  5. Billy spent a few hours inside of a tank drilling holes and playing with tools

Overall, this trip has been very successful and incredibly impactful on our lives. These kids build relationships with us incredibly fast and are constantly learning from us, we learn how to troubleshoot when our design plans mess up, and we have all grown immensely in our social and spiritual capacities.
