Anticipation in Our Hearts

Students, faculty, and professional engineers are currently working on the finishing touches of a project that has been three years in the making.

Back in May 2016 an assessment team from the Peugeot Center visited the Village of Hope in Ghana and started what has become a rich and rewarding relationship. The mission of the Village of Hope is to provide family, heath, education, and a new start in a godly environment for Ghanaian orphans. The staff are incredibly gifted at what they do and numerous lives have been changed because of their efforts. Unfortunately technical challenges with their current sanitation systems due to high clay content in the soil has meant multiple headaches, challenges and expenses for the ministry over the past several years.

In 2017 a team returned to further study their system and source materials for an alternative solar powered treatment system. Since then the Peugeot Center team has continued to develop a wastewater treatment system that uses almost all locally available parts and is also able to operate entirely on solar power.

Finally, this year, will construct our first prototype of that system! Ten students and two team leaders will depart May 14th for Ghana with with designs in hand and anticipation in their hearts.
